Greetings,
I am so excited about my mission trip to the Dominican Republic! I can't wait to go. As some of you know this is a week long mission sponsored by my companies James Fund, to minister to widows and orphans down there. I'm not sure what we will be doing yet, but I can't wait. =0) The pamphlet we got mentioned something about an orphanage for deaf children. I think that would be a neat ministry to help out with. My Spanish is a little rusty and I certainly cannot communicate with my hands, but coloring books and love cross all language barriers.
We are taking donations down with us, so if you want to contribute let me know. I'll try to get the list posted on here sometime soon. (I have to find it again first.) =0) We will be going the first week of June, so if you want to donate you have a whole month to get it to me. I can only take two suitcases at 50 pounds each though, so keep that in mind. I am sooooooo excited!!!!
Please be praying for the team. There are about 20 people going down on this trip and it is the first time the James Fund has sent anyone to the DR, so pray that travel goes smoothly and that we will mesh well as a team. As Pastor Troy said this morning--we need to be filled with SELFLESS love. It's not about us and it's NOT a vacation. We are there to be God's hands. Pray also for the kids we will encounter. Pray that we can plant seeds and water the gardens that are already growing with God's nutrients to ensure a fruitful harvest come rapture time. Pray that our cups will be overflowing with His love and that everyone we encounter, whether at the hotel or in the streets will just know we are not normal and want to be abnormal too. =0) (It's good to be abnormal--Jesus certainly was.)
Anyway, enough for now. I've got to go find that list...and my bed. Right now it is covered up with clothes. =0)

Picture Labels
Well, the labels got a little mixed up, so the tail comment should go with the monkey picture, and the black and white art pieces are from Rwanda (made with cow dung, which dries harder than cement and makes interesting conversation when hung on your wall). =0)
