So I am running half a marathon in October!!! Official practice starts in June, but there is no way I will survive a 4 mile run/walk, so I decided to start now with an easier pace. Tuesday, I went to South Sound Running (with my marathon experienced friend Gloria) and got a great pair of shoes. Thursday I decided to take them for a "test drive" with a half hour walk around my neighborhood. The right one rubs a bit on my heel, but I figure that will go away, either with a callous or as the shoes break in. Anyway, now comes the hard part...perseverance! Especially if it's raining. Pray for me to have the motivation and self-discipline to keep going. I'm doing it to raise funds for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in honor of my Dad. That's motivation enough, except when I forget ~ IT'S NOT ABOUT ME!!!
Hope you are all having a great day. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

CONGRATULATIONS! Sometimes the hardest part is to begin. I will be praying for you to persevers!--Jan
I hadn't checked your blog for a while. What an awesome way to honor your dad. I'm sure Gloria has lots of tips and motivation for you. :) Will be praying for you!
